The Unconditional Sentiment of Jewellery

On most days I wear an item of jewellery. It's a conscious decision to be without it. There’s something to be said about how jewellery apologetically beckons ambient light to glisten upon itself while it’s snaked around your neck, wrist or sat in pride of place by your ears, elevating a typical days ensemble. Jewellery can evoke sentiment in a way many items cannot, which is why it makes the perfect gift for a loved one. It can give thanks, mark a milestone or evoke solidarity. Whether it’s passed down generations, marital, commemorative, or bought for one’s self for no other reason than its aesthetic, the sentiment of jewellery is that it exists purely to make us feel adorned and exquisite amidst the mundanity of everyday life.
